About Us

Chef Zakiya is from Baltimore, Maryland and a graduate of Johnson & Wales University. Chef attended under graduate and graduate studies at the Charlotte, North Carolina campus. After studying abroad in Germany, Amsterdam, and France where she became a certified European sommelier, Zakiya became a personal chef. During the pandemic she started her business and decided to assist other female entrepreneurs while creating galas at numerous mansions and venues in Chicago, Houston, Charlotte and Los Angeles to name a few.  This includes the South Carolina Governor's mansion where she was the first, and youngest, African American female Executive Chef to host an event. Chef traveled to numerous clients,  and one of her main clients relocated both her and her sous chef to Columbus, Ohio.  The rest is history. Chef Zakiya created her brand as a personal chef, Savor The Experience, because she created the best cuisine for her clients. During her travels,  she was constantly asked to assist with locating an event space to host private parties. Chef decided to open Savor the Experience Events and Venue in Columbus because of versatility, and numerous opportunities. Chef Zakiya, also known as Chef Z,is available for private events and is always ready to curate a menu that is perfect for your celebration.
